Posted Date: 06/12/2010
TGYG client, "Orion", finished in second place in the fourth leg of The Bahamas Billfish Championship, the oldest billfish tournament series in the world. "Orion", the Palm Beach, Florida based Hatteras 77, caught a blue marlin each day to get a total of 1,800 points. Anglers can fish any or all of the five tournaments with cumulative points for sailfish, spearfish, white marlin and blue marlin determining the overall Bahamas Billfish Champion for that year. Out of the 58 competitors, "Orion" is in eleventh place overall, quite an impressive feat owing to the fact that they only entered the competition in the fourth leg. The five tournaments take place each spring on the 'Out Islands' of The Bahamas. The season's fifth and final leg takes place June 23rd through 26th at Treasure Cay Resort and Marina. The Treasure Cay Championship will decide who wears the "Championship Ring" and the title of 2010 Bahamas Billfish Champion.
