Introducing the 420 Marquis and the new line of Marquis luxury day boats

Posted Date: 06/04/2019

The return of Marquis Yachts to the yachting industry in 2019 is an exciting development for boat owners seeking a luxury day boat in the 40-50 foot range. The 420 Marquis will debut at the Fort Lauderdale International boat show in November 2019 and will be followed by 50 and 60 foot models in subsequent years.

Seeking to meet the needs of a new generation of luxury boaters, the 420 Marquis is based on cutting-edge Italian design from famed Italian yacht design firm Nuvolari Lenard and is being produced out of the Marquis-Larson factory in Wisconsin, north of Green Bay.

Marquis-Larson Boat Group has had tremendous success with the VanDutch line of boats, a fact of which many boating enthusiasts are unaware. VanDutch contracted Marquis to build the boats due to the high-end craftsmanship and production capabilities that the Pulaski, Wisconsin company is known for. Over 80 VanDutch boats were produced by the Marquis-Larson Boat Group.

Moreover, Marquis-Larson Boat Group has also partnered with Lexus to produce a line of Lexus branded yachts that will also be produced in Wisconsin. The partnerships with both VanDutch and Lexus surely give confidence to the boating industry that the forthcoming Marquis models debuting in 2019 and beyond will be nothing short of sensational. Rob Parmentier, President & CEO of the Marquis-Larson Boat Group explains, “With our experience building ultra modern, ultra high quality boats for both Lexus and VanDutch, I feel we are in a unique position to offer a new Marquis brand that will become a significant player in this growing market.”

We tend to agree. The market for the luxury day boat is prime for a new entrant such as the 420 Marquis. The 420 Marquis makes a statement with its striking design, and owners can appreciate the lower maintenance and lack of crew needed when compared with larger yachts. When your runabout looks like the 420 Marquis, a large yacht isn’t required to impress.

The 420 Marquis enables boaters to make the most of weekends and has the size and range to go farther and carry more guests. There’s enough space to spread out, and the cabin with full head provides the necessary flexibility and amenities. Spending the day on the water with the entire family is a breeze. Whether lounging outside or using the shower and galley in the air-conditioned cabin, the boat suits every member of the family. The boat can be used for sleeping overnight, but the more common use case is that of pulling into a hotel.

Tom George Yacht Group is proud to be representing the all-new line of Marquis express yachts both on the west coast of Florida and to its international client base. Jimmy Rogers, TGYG’s yacht division manager, said “This is an exciting new market space for us as a dealership.  While the large runabout yacht concept is not new, we know the experienced Marquis Group will produce a highly desirable platform that is not only stunning in design but also comfortable and functional. Combined with our extensive service network, the new Marquis Express line is sure to be a hit and provide some serious enjoyment on the water.”

The 420 Marquis will expertly combine innovative style with comfortable functionality and performance. The boat will come standard with twin 480hp inboard diesel engines, but will have the option to be outboard powered (as seen in the below rendering). Joystick docking will be available for both inboard and outboard powered versions.

The main deck of the 420 Marquis will feature a large bathing platform aft with abundant, luxurious seating and lounge space outdoors. Wet bar area will feature sink, icemaker, refrigerator and grill. A hardtop will be an upgrade that we believe many owners will be eager to include.

The air-conditioned cabin will feature a full head, galley and dinette that converts into a berth for overnight stays. Owners can customize the color scheme of the hull and soft goods to taste.

The preliminary 420 Marquis specifications are as follows:

  • LOA: 42'
  • Beam: 13'
  • Weight: 19,000 lbs
  • Draft: 3'
  • Fuel Capacity: 230 gallons
  • Water Capacity: 60 gallons
  • Holding Tank Cap: 35 gallons
  • Propulsion: 2x 480hp Cummins Inboard Diesel
  • Optional Propulsion: 2x Outboard Engines

Pricing on the 420 Marquis is expected to be below that of most of its European competition. The advances in production and capability investments that Marquis-Larson Boat Group has made in recent years means that the 420 Marquis makes no compromises on style and functionality, all within a very reasonable price range for a 42 foot yacht.
